Whether you choose to explore its charming capital or hike across the rolling hills is, of course, up to you, but variety is the spice of life and it’s worth doing a bit of both. Start by sitting in the quaint little harbour, taking tea and watching the boats bobbing up and down in the water. Then explore the maze of streets, seeking out antique shops and bookshops where you’ll find all sorts of rare treasures.
Where hiking is concerned, Guernsey’s climate is noticeably warmer than the rest of the UK thanks to its proximity to France. Ask the locals for the best places to walk, or get a map from one of the shops in St Peter Port. You’re spoilt for choice with locations.
