If passing through as part of a cruise, be sure to head straight for the so-called Golden Mile, which runs from Belfast City Hall to Queen’s University, and is where you’ll find the majority of the city’s historic attractions as well as its best bars, restaurants and cafes.
Among the highlights of this part of town is Saint Anne’s Cathedral, which is the focal point of the aptly-named Cathedral Quarter, while culture vultures will also be impressed by both the Belfast Exposed photography gallery and the Belfast Print Workshop and Gallery.
Elsewhere, Belfast Castle can be found atop Cave Hill in the north of the city, and offers wonderful views across the skyline and the coast, while also providing a glimpse into the local history. The Titanic Belfast, meanwhile, is simply unmissable, and provides a fascinating look at the story of the Titanic, which was in fact constructed on the site where this wonderful interactive museum now stands.
